John,

First thank you for reading and I invite you to read the first two parts (link at bottom).

I want to address the first part of what you wrote regarding fudging on the Israeli side - as it ties to the article.

From my perspective there are two big things.

The first is SCALE. (again read the first two articles). Israel's attempt at PR exists, but it is negligible when compared to what is going on globally.

Regarding the conflict I tend to believe Israel from a game theory perspective. Hamas has every incentive to lie about numbers and damage - it plays into their desire to use dead children as fodder for clickbait. Sinwar even said this part out loud as per the WSJ article with his leaks.

Israel has the opposite incentive because they are under such a microscope and cannot afford to be caught fabricating info.

The second big thing is that I see misinformation - or rather non-Information from the Israeli side being used internally as opposed to externally.

We keep getting all these messages that "Netanyahu is on it and has a plan" but we have never seen any such thing. Netanyahu has yet to give an actual interview in Hebrew (!!!). Israeli media also does not show balanced perspectives (naturally). We are definitely exposed to what is going on but not in a deep enough level that connects to the complex history.
